As well as my previous interest, I have found someone else willing to sign up.
How many does that put us up to now?

Sounds like it's going to be a little tougher to catch the fish on the Bow by the end of the summer....
Nice of you guys to offer your knowledge at an affordable price and allow people to enjoy the river we love, the way it is meant to be enjoyed.
I'm sure you already do, but it would be a great idea to throw in some discussion on etiquette and Spawning Redds into the class.
Can't wait to see the "Floating the Bow in a Pontoon" Posse float by.....

Thank you MissinTheBow, that's great advice. We do discuss those topics at our clinic, as well as fish handling etc., but I will be sure to put specail emphasis on these important issues.
We have nine people enrolled, of 12 spots available and are waiting for replies from a few who have expressed interest.

Sounds like a great course. I'll spread the word for you as well. I know a few people that might be interested. I introduced them to Fly Fishing and haven't had the time to spend with them. Your course sounds like it would be perfect.
If you ever need help building an outline, etc. let me know. I used to run a Poker School and got pretty good at putting outlines, Theory, etc. together.
I sit at a computer all day most days, so I would be more than happy to help you out.....and don't worry, I am not looking for anything in return.....lol.

Outline.
1)Show up.
2)Learn how to kick the sh*t out of the Bow.
3)Go home
;D ;D ;D ;D
Good luck on your next clinic guys. If I was new to the river, and didn't want to go through a 3 or 4 year learning curve, I'd go take this one day course. It might knock of at least a YEAR from my advancement on the Bow, and give me methods to use that once I prefect them I'd be fishing alongside the very best and going fish for fish with them...

Outline. 1)Show up. 2)Learn how to kick the sh*t out of the Bow. 3)Go home..... Sounds simple enough. I was actually thinking of an outline of the course material and maybe a booklet with pictures of Knots, Mending Procedures, etc. that the "Students" could take home and keep. Easy enough to understand 5 minutes after being told something, but easier to forget the next day. I agree that a one day course like this would be great for anyone. There are probably a lot of people like Me that learned the hard way through trial and error. I've developed so many bad habits it's not even funny and I think it's too late for me to fix. It's about catching fish though right? So who cares how pretty you look doing it.

Thought I would bump this back up.
Details about the Nymphing Clinc. With the prime fishing season starting, this day clinic will be an opportunity for fly fisherman of all levels of experience, to improve and sharpen their skills. Fishing success has very little to do with luck, but is about improving your chances of success, through developement of skills and knowledge. We will focus on Bow River Nymphing Tactics and Strategies, including, terminal tackle, rigging, casting, reading water, trout behavior, staging cyles, fish fighting/landing skills & strategies, the entomology of important Bow river hatches & fly selection, rods/lines/reels/tippets and balancing the system, fishing and casting patterns and the importance of stealth. Fishing techniques to be demonstrated will include, Czech Nymphing, High Sticking, European Upstream Nymphing, Long Line Nymphing. We will also spend time observing students casting on the water and work on each persons individual skills. Max and I have logged over 1,200 outings, collectivly, on the Bow River, from Bearspaw to Carseland. I am confident that we have many observations and insights from our Bow experiences, to share with everyone. I hope that you will join us. ps. I will bring my Spey Rod for a short casting/fishing demonstration and anyone interested in trying it for a few casts will be more than welcome. [/quote]
The next clinic is on May, 26, for those interested. Send me a pm for further information

At a SECRET location, revealed only to our students... It's in the city. Birchy, how big you ask? So big that my legs were still shaking 4 hours after we landed it.
